I realized something about the entertainment industry.

With movies, they have to remake crappy movies for the younger generations to take their dates on for something to do. Like Prom Night, c'mon. What kind of adult wants to watch that? There are a dozen movies that came out last year that were aimed strictly for the pre-teen audience.

I think the same can be said about music. These new people coming out are strictly for junior high kids that are discovering hip hop for the first time in their lives. It's not meant to be a great song or a lasting artist. They're just one hit wonders giving the kids something to listen to when they're bored. It's not even with hip hop, it's with music in general. You know how many Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears have been out in the past decade?

As long as you don't consider these new bubblegum rappers to be on the same level as the things we listen to, I think it's fine. It's not hip hop, it's teen-hop-101. It's also a sign of the times and we're all just getting older.

And after thinking about this, I realized, Eminem is going to be considered "classic" soon -_-.

I think eminem is a bit too crazy to be considered classic.
Well, you are right, but the fact is, people respect these awful artists, scream for em, have them on TRL. These people are looked up to, interviews and shit, TRL, getting what they don't deserve.

I'm pretty sure older generations thought the same about our music. I'm sure people who saw the Backstreet Boys thought they were just like The New Kids On The Block or Britney was the new Madonna. Eminem certainly got his Vanilla Ice comparisons.

Yeah, i hate how there's a fuckin dance and snap ya fingers thing in every hip hop video i see now. Its all just to make the little kids and people that dont know hip hop happy, they think its so cool, dancing and snapping they're fingers do it.

funny how everybody is still bitching about this shit like it just started happening recently. the comments made about songs like this, Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, etc... are all gettin redundant. some ringtone rapper puts out a new song and 15 people say the same shit, " this isn't hiphop" "they're ruining hiphop". shut up.

music is as good as what you take from it. don't like the shit on the radio (i don't blame you), then listen to shit not on the radio, or something that gives you what you desire from your music. nobody told you that you had to listen to it. the forum has thread after thread of album downloads of decent rappers. pick one and stop bitching. it won't change anything.

A big factor is that if i turn on BET, its hardly even possible to see a good music video. I never said i had to listen to it, i'm mad because other people think it's cool, and i have to deal with that shit all day at school, people thinkin the new hip hop is so cool.

you can't be mad at somebody for their opinion unless they were forcing it on you. but i agree it is annoying that things like BET don't look out for everybody and put a little bit of everything on there. but unfortunately they want more people to watch. how do they do that? put the most popular stuff on their channel. and "new rap" is popular. it's politics. nothing you can do. just wait for the next big thing to excite the masses and hope it's decent.
