Russians fought like motherfuckers against any of their oppressors (Germans, Mongols, the Czar), Polish did too. no, it's not like they "had to pick some tobacco for a few years". they were caught, taken away from their families, friends, culture, religion and language - everything. when they came to America, they did not know the language, they did not know why it'd happened and why someone put chains around their arms and necks. they were beaten up, raped, humiliated and killed by white people.
