hey, i think that's great. i mean working with mentally challenged people. great job, you learn responsibility, patience and tolerance. i've seen and spent some time with autistic kids, and also kids after brain surgeries who didn't come back to their previous 'state of mind' and it was a great experience. my friend's brother got some brain disorders and he's a great kid. i have no idea how it looks or feels when it's a long-term work; surely it's a challenging work, but i'm sure you'll make it. i wish you good luck.
