@ Bar: i think i've commented on a video that was posted of Akala. i think it was a performance he did on a radio thing, i'm not sure. and i don't disregard their skills because of the accents. they can just as easily be as good as anyone who speaks like i do. i just don't see the sense in persuing artists i can't understand.

well thats my point, "artists" you cant understand, when you havent listen to all the artists, if your tryna tell me all artists from the same place sound and spit the same then your just looking for esxcuses, people from liverpool sound different than someone from newcastle who sounds different from someone from glasgow who sounds different from someone from london..you get me ?
when i stop hearing the esxcuse "i dont understand the accent in UK hip hop" is when ill stop moaning about americans being close minded, coz it should be "i cant really undestand what akala is saying" and akala aint uk hip hop he's just one artists, so why knock the rest and already have a pre-though opinion that you wont understand it ?

Tash8 wrote:so bar let me get this straight, you want hadez to go REALLY out of his way and just keep searching youtube and download albums and shit, just so he can maybe find a rapper that he might understand, please...
i honestly think ur the one being close minded here, i have problems with accents, honestly i can only understand 50% of the shit southern artists speak here so think how much harder it is to listen to U.K. rappers...
like hadez is saying no disrespect to UK rappers, can't judge them but if we can't understand most of them then why both to look for more, it might be a logical fallacy but the percentage in finding a rapper who we can understand is much less than looking for an american rapper...

Tash8 wrote:yes u are close minded because ur doing the same thing that ur saying we do...
ur not putting urself in our shoes, i'm not real great at picking up words easily even when i do listen to a song about 5 times... and listen to it closely, i just have trouble doing that... now it makes it 10x harder with an accent.. sure maybe it's easy for u well congrats man...but not everyone, i'm not gonno go thru the trouble to listen to a song 10 times just to understand it... sure i'll probably enjoy it if i have lyrics in front of me, but i can probably enjoy an american artist song 10x more without lyrics...so yes, i'm ignoring uk rap, why because i dont need to listen to it, i'm not judging it, i'm not saying anything about it, maybe i did before but i stopped...
here's the def of close minded for you
"Intolerant of the beliefs and opinions of others; stubbornly unreceptive to new ideas."
now, ur the one that's not accepting of us just not wanting to have anything to do with uk rap, it's not us that are saying uk rap blows...
so yes, i'm ignoring uk rap, why because i dont need to listen to it

also, saying "i didnt understand that artist from that country so i wont understand ANY artist from that country, so why should i listen" is judging the artists you havent heard before you hear them. so to quote you saying "i'm not judging it," you are judging the person on pre-though opinions you made on other artists you didnt understand..
when if the roles were reversed you would be doin the same thing
