k, well you may even have it without knowing it. thats if you have sleep with girls not using a condom. 1 out of 3 people in the world have it. the so called STD is becoming worse. for males it doest effect them besides warts on there genital area. and for woman its more serious. if they dont get tested for it, the warts can get worse and grow on there cervics causeing cervical cancer. there are vacines out there to help prevent it but they need to be taken at a young age. this is a serious issue that people dont think about because its newer and not vary much reasearch has been done.

I think of std's as a way to bitch slap dumb people (not talking about Africa were many people don't have ways to protect their self's)

well you could be fucking someone who you been with for years and not even she got it from a long time ago. some people who have only been with one partner have it all the time.

we had talked about it in microbiology class. there's lot of types of the HPV, the majority isn't really dangerous and the infection lasts without any significant symptoms and can expire on it's own - thanks to the immune system.

the rest however may be dangerous if not diagnosed and cured in the early stage. the infection may lead to visible changes like warts [dunno how it's called in english.. papilla?] and then to for example cervical cancer [women] or cancer of other organs, related to the urinary system anogenital region.

the best protection would be a vaccine which is available since 2006 i guess. it's recommended for females between 11 and 26 i think, and for females that have not been sexually active yet, it's a 100%-sure protection.

I think he means that parents delude themselves to thinking that if they don't teach their children about protection/take measures to prevent STDs for their kids, then their children will magically not want to have sex...ever .
