looking to buy a new mic

Postby DelinQuent » Aug 20th, '08, 04:20

I'm looking into getting a USB mic that doesn't need an interface. Anyone have experience with them? I'm looking to spend under $200. Anyone have any suggestions?

Well I know old USB mice were terrible but they have ones that record with a 24 bit sound depth now. I don't know what all the technical details mean but I know that 24 bit will offer good quality.

Thanks for the tips so i dont waste my money. Right now I have an m-audio firewire 410 and a behringer b-1 but I have to share that with pik so I been looking into a cheap alternative so we don't have to keep trading it back and forth. Thanks again

JJlabs BMC-USB. I'm going to order this when I get the money. My friend has one and it's a great microphone! :y:
Just plug and play. :8)

Not that I know of, but even so... quality would only be worse since usb mics have there one mechanism.

And @ Killah: That mic isn't really any good... it lacks 100% versatility. If your serious about your music, spend 200 dollars and get a small set-up. Saving $200 is much cheaper in the long run.

Really? My friend got one and the quality is actually good...

Its not versatile - You can't do certain things with a usb mic that you can do with a console... Look it up, anyone will tell you the same.

Okay, but it's better than the average USB-mic, right? You can use it for rapping as a hobby? I can't afford those expensive microphones, and this is the best USB-mic I can find, so I have to go with the best I can afford. But if you know any other, better, USB-mic you just can plug-n-play, please tell me!

if you can't afford a condenser mic than might want to save up. believe this: when you buy that usb mic, you won't get the word "quality" you'll just get a temporary mic till you realize you wasted your money when you could of saved up. so just save up, don't rush on buying something that's not good.
