yes they would they would have to because they would o funded it plus they would also own the album so to speak

its the same as a few other artists who change labels - any stuff released on there old label can not be released on their new label unless the new label gets full permission from the old label

so it wont matter if he dropped or not it would still come out on shady, p,lus think about it shady will be trying to get some of their money they invested back wouldnt they

tbh if he is dropped which i personally think he has been then shady would release it in a rush like this cuz up until now they have avoided releasing it and even talking bout it THEN SUDDENLY HE SEEMS TO GET DROPPED AND HEY GUESS WHAT THEY RELEASING STATLANTA

its pretty obvious by what stat said in dear summer part 2 that he been dropped if the lyrics are correct but these are just my views and i know this is how record labels work from personal experience

he's right if youre under a label w/ an album you automatically give them the rights to that album (so the label can release it anytime they want or scrap it), unless you have it in your contract that all the songs you did while signed to that label are yours to keep.

they wud though cuz they will wanna get at least some of their investment back instead of it bein a total loss

i agree with u in principle but in reality it dont work like that,good business sense means they will wanna get a return on their investment even if it at a loss

same with stock if u go buy a load of stock and it dont sell then ya gonna throw it in the trash? no ur go and sell for whatever you can get for it to at least get some sort of return

well artists are just stock / a commodidity to a label thats all so principle is the same
