Songs that you could get a freestyle street dance going on -

Postby hollisterb » Sep 14th, '08, 09:19

Hey people I'm new here - I used to listen to loads of Eminem/D12/50 etc when I was like 16-20 - I'm 24 now! And now I have more old stuff than new stuff, now and again come across a rare find like "Welcome to Detroit" by Trick Trick which was hot

Anyways, I'm organizing some events/parties here, I'm from London by the way and I was wondering if you all could help me with some good tracks. Like even if it is remix type of ones - something that you could get a group of people to possibly freestyle dance to - as mentioned before, I think Welcome to Detroit is a song on those lines - with a good beat to it where you can imagine someone or someone's busting a few moves to in a streetdance contest

I'm sure many of you have seen Step Up 2 - Timbaland's "Bounce" song is a really good one in my opinion and the remix version of that song at the end where they mix it with "Killin' in the name of" is pretty sick

Any thoughts/ideas on this - thanks

if your goin for the UK breakdancing scene, id recomend some UK Hip Hop and not american. it just makes sense that people in london would wanne hear there local shit and bust a move to it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVBVOmn8-rY

sways from london i could see that track being a good one. but again i suggest goin on a British forum and asking about this coz the majority of people here are from america or other parts of the world so there is a very little chance they know what a london dance crew is goin to want to dance to.

go one dance sites and get opinions from them or go to a dance studio in london and ask the teacher if you could take a moment of time from the class to ask them what they feel is best to dance to, if you wanne make it a succes you got to all these things and get a understanding of what the general dance crew likes.

sorry i couldnt be of more help i dont know much about the dance scene :sweating:

Nah I don't want to do British hip hop scene - I don't think much of it

I don't think just because your from a certain country, you can only bust to that music

The hop hop scene is far superior in the US than anywhere else and that's what the crowd wants

yer rep you ends (to a suitable extent) cos it depends whether your audience is more varied or urban cos if it's urban you probably need slowjamz, funkyhouse, R&B and that..at least where i am
