Tupac

Postby Emadyville » Oct 5th, '08, 03:17

Had to do mad school work tonight, just finished, and the whole time I decided to put all Tupac on my ITunes. And I think it's crazy how his music just always seems to sound right, like his music just transferred through time like it does, it always sounds fresh to me. Idk just thought others felt the same here on TR. Plus I'm bored with Tr right now, seems like saturday nights no one is on here.

And 2Pac's music is for the people, so it makes sense he can still be listened to and appreciated many years later.

Lol, I was joking. The irony of it was that yes, I am online as well, so I don't have a life either. :( Though in my defense, I will say that I was out of the house since 7 AM, and just got home recently. So chea. :toocool:

I wasn't sure had to justify myself lol. Well yeah I guess you have an excuse.

ok this my last off topic post on here cause i had to explain this to him

if we won one game 1-0 then we've won one game
if we lost the other game 1-0 then we've lost one game

the score doesn't change, but our record does, so our record is 1-1, but the scores are same.

tupac always sounds fresh ?

oh geez whats the world coming to, the guy recorded so much music in such a small space of time that his mindframe was in the same place alot of the time, but his music is being released 5, 6, 7, years after this mind frame, everything sounds dated. the struggly he speaks of is dated, the political imbalance is dated, the quotes are dated and on the point of cheesy, the slang is hardly used.

his new music is bad because it isnt fresh. im not saying thats pacs fault it isnt.

lupe fiasco is fresh and relevent, Akala is fresh and relevent. tupac is dated and irrelevent, it doesnt stop his old songs released during his life being awesome or him having 1 or 2 great songs every album released after his death. but it does stop me caring what he says.

Idk everytime I listen to them they sound better than all the rap that's being put out for the last few years. And some of the struggles are the same. That's just my opinion, you're entitled to yours as well.

^ gotta agree with Tru. his music is fresh because he used to rap about problems that are still present. i can't tell it from the 'American' point of view, i don't live there, but seems to me like people still have the same issues - no money, no job, young people with no perspectives, racial issues, plus now this economic shit.. i think Game said it very well "Pac's gone and Brenda's still throwin babies in the garbage.." - it's not like we live in a perfect world now.

well there obivously is similiar stuff still happening, but what i mean is he isnt saying it from living it in this decade. its kool if you listen to older music and appreciate it is talking about a different time and he is reflecting that, but the way his music gets re-produced in an attempt to get it "fresh" to act as if tupac is speaking of life today, when hes talking about it some ten years ago.

so yes, his stuff can still be appreciated becuase he might say how goverment is fucked up and comment on a black man being president, but tupac wrote that line in a wishfull thought that america could stand above the past and elect a black president, not on the basis that it seriously could happen no long from now.

add to that the fact they get people to imitate pacs voice so he can say words like "g-unit" "obama" ect. and its all bullshit on the mans legacy.

so thats why imo, tupacs lyrics and sound when albums are released now is old and irrelevent. no matter how hard they try to make it sound like its commenting on things of today, it never will be.
