10/20/08 Lil Wayne Helps The Family Of A Huge Fan

Lil Wayne recently helped the family of one of his biggest fans this past Saturday (10/18) at a benefit event. Wayne and Baby surprized Slingerland's parents with a package during the concert to help raise money for the funeral. The package contained two autographed magazines, a sympathy card saying "Stay Hy."

16 year-old Ryan Slingerland was killed last month in a car accident and article on his death mentioned how big a fan he was of Lil Wayne. Kathleen Busch, a reader of the paper, happens to own an apartment next to Lil Wayne and Bryan "Baby" Williams in Florida. She wrote a note to Weezy and Baby explaining “A few words from someone meaningful to Ryan would mean more than any amount of counseling or antidepressants. People on the outside see your fur and jewelry and wealth but we're all the same. This is your opportunity to do something.” That they did.
