logic is there but if i go through the tracks, rakim has it on rhymes, flow, the beats are different but the same on ym enjoyment of them. eminem got delivery and concept.

copmmercial impact obviously goes to lose yourself but for me i couldnt care less about commercial impact.

50 Cent killed Eminem on Never Enough.
50 Cent killed Eminem on Jimmy Crack Corn.
Xzibit killed Eminem on Bitch Please Pt. II.
Royce killed Eminem on She's The One.
Lloyd Banks killed Eminem on We All Die One Day.

My opinions. :smoking:

No way Rakim got it on multi's, know why? Because EMinem had great multi's with a concept and theme. It's easy making multi's it's not always easy keeping them on topic. Eminem had better delivery, better flow, better beat, better concept, better rhymes, better in every way man. And I love Rakim's song, that's how good Lose Yourself is. And Tash is right, you've only heard R.A.K.I.M recently, which is why it's better for you,it's fresh, and the most banging Rakim track you've heard.

or because i like it more than lose yourself ?

there other tracks on that album i like more than lose yourself.

not including R.A.K.I.M, the best track on there for me is, Boomkat - wasting my time, and for rap its, xzibit - Spit shine

i think all 3 of them tracks are better than lose yourself. lose yourself is dope but ive heard people call it the best hip hop track of all time, and thats just lies, its a great eminem track, but thats it. i agree 8 mile is dope though, love the way he works the flow on it :smoking:

we had a convo about it not long ago.

honestly if your a huge eminem fan then lose yourself is an amazing eminem track but i think em has better tracks than lose yourself (cleaning out my closet, till i collapse, just dont give a fuck ect.) when i first heard it i was pretty young and groupie it was the most amazing thing ever, now that i know hip hop it aint that great for me, wether or not you think its coz it played out in my head thats up to you but i dont praise loser yourself that much, excellent eminem track but not his best and not the best on 8-mile soundtrack.

I don't think he has better songs than Lose Yourself, but I do think he has other songs on that level. For me Till I Collapse, Bully, Sing For The Moment, Rock Bottom, etc. are all on that level, but not quite as special as Lose Yourself. You don't even have to be a fan of rap to like Lose Yourself, yet you can ba a huge hip-hop head, and still consider it brilliant. That track is by my own admission overplayed and I've heard it way too many times, to the point where I`m sick of it myself, but I still can't discount the skill involved in the making of it, nor the impact it had when it came out. Eminem at his peak and spitting some of his best shit ever, is pretty much unmatchable. But, we'll say it's a matter of opinion, but I still say technically Lose Yourself is very very hard to beat. The reason you don't praise it that much, is because people already know about it. And when you know something about hip-hop, more than other people know, you praise the shit they don't know about, so you can turn them onto something new. Not ramble on about a song that turned out to be a major mainstream hit and win many awards. Nevertheless it deserves praise.

haha that's what eminem said in his new book or was it the new interview, it was in one of those... he said once people finally started liking something and picking up on an artist/song, i stop listening to it and find something else...

Good question.

I think Fuzz Scoota on No Ones Iller Then Me had a bunch of dope lines and multis, so they were either equal or maybe Fuzz was a little better

The reason i think he outshined Eminem is that that's T.I's musical style, whereas Eminem was trying to do it and it just doesn't suit him. In honesty, if a hardened rapper goes and does a shitty southern song, he isn't gonna do better than someone who is constantly bumping out shitty southerner music.

Your a fuckin dumbass for dissin southern music. ive lived in the west coast my whole life but some of my fav. rapper are from the south (T.I., jeezy, andre 3000, big boi, luda, etc). also some of my most hated are from there (dem franchize boyz, soulja boi, 36 mafia, etc), but still your a fuckin dumbass for sayin that and u aint no rap fan if u really believe wut u said

Not a rap fan if he believes T.I. bumps out shitty southerner music?

Well.

Although T.I. does bump out shitty southerner music...

One's music preferences do not make him any less of a "rap fan".

So calm your ass down... lol...

Eminem has been outshined in... almost every collab he's done since Encore. Touchdown, that Trick Trick joint... hell, 50 even got him on Peep Show...
