10/31/08 Update: Suspect Refuses To Take Lie-Detector Test

The main suspect in the murder of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew, refuses to take a lie-detector test. The suspect, also her brother in law, William Balfour continues to say he's innocent although he wont back up his story by taking the poloygraph.

The Chicago police found the gun used in the murders yesterday (10/29) near the area they found the body of Jennifer Hudson's nephew, and Balfour's step-son, Julian King. "There was also some small bits of evidence recovered," Deputy Chief Nicholas Roti said. The gun was taken to the Illinois State Police cribe lab to be tested.

The Chicago authorities believe there might have been an accomplice in the murders of Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason Hudson, and her nephew. Balfour claims he was at his girlfriends house on the west side during the time of the shootings and his girlfriend is backing up the story.
