11/11/08 Kanye Says Jay-Z Is Taking His Time With New Album

Is Jay-Z's new album, The Blueprint 3, coming this year or not? His first single, "Jockin Jay-Z" [listen here], has been out for months yet no release date has been posted. In a recent interview [listen here] Angie Martinez hinted that Jay's album was coming this year to which Jay-Z quickly said he never stated his album was coming this year and he didn't know where that was coming from. Kanye West, who is producing a lot of the new album, is now letting everyone know exactly what is going on. While in Europe for the EMAs, Kanye said "We went in and we done the whole album. He wanted to do a few more joints, so he kinda pushed it back. Now we're gonna go in and just work on some more records. So I got some more stuff to kill it with! I think [Jay pushed the album back because] 'Swagger' just did so incredible. We wanted to go up [and make sure] everything was on that level."

"Swagga Like Us" [listen here] appeared on T.I.'s "Paper Trail" but Jay-Z stated it would also be on his new album. So, when is The Blueprint 3 coming? Only time will tell.

My guess is it'll have 20 tracks cause Jay is always doing songs, christ is he 40 yet?
