i use VLC media player and it plays everything i download, no hassles. i like it to because u can mess with the sound and picture too. if u haven't, u might want to look into it and give it a try.

What's good about VLC is that if u download a movie you can see it even if the download is not finished. (you can see the downloaded part so far)
VLC plays anything except rmvb that can be played with classic media player i think.
