Postby neb121 » Dec 12th, '08, 03:39

Did anyone see the tyra show today where they had people who was famous off of youtube? I thought that was interesting. Most of them was baby and animals but still awesome. One guy makes 20,000 a month off youtube videos. I don't know how though. but just thought I would share and see if anyone else saw it.

No i didn't see it, but people make that kinda money cuz people sponsor them, and because every time youtube places and add on your video they owe you a certain amount. plus those people make websites and charge to put adds on those sites and shit. Yeah it's like hittin the fuckin lottery, but it makes some money

Can I be that random stripper that runs naked down some alley that has nothing to do with the musical content?

And you can also just lose it and yell at an old lady "hahahahaha" :p

the internet does make it easier to get more noticed but its still hard. but its deff easier then it was when like em and all the rappers were coming up in the 90's.

I agree with you Maybe, but also something that's helped fuck up music is that people have made this ENORMOUS gap between styles. There's pop rap, underground rap, and then there's hardcore rap. A lot of people don't like the extremes, and the people that do are people just like us who love artists and then proceed to download their albums. If there were more people like Eminem, T.I. (flame me if you fucks wanna), Jay-Z, and older Nas who could stay true to hip-hop (which by my definition is just being real to yourself and putting your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs to lyrics) while still being commercially marketable. More people could be like that, but they don't want to be because they're so afraid of being "fake" and shit like that.

But yeah, the internet can help you get noticed sure. Myspace is a great tool, but it's not going to make you successful.

No i agree with the sucessful part but its a good way to get noticed. The internet has millions of people on it but with people downloading music it does make it more hard to earn money. Thats why so many artist come out with perfume and clothing lines.

Man I'm sick of people saying that shit, because no it's not a great tool for people like me. If you have less than 100, 000 views or plays or friends, you won't get famous at all. You can't become successful on your own on myspace, not for me at least. I see it as impossible, I can't be fucked adding people non stop, or shit like that. So you definitely need help to get recognized on myspace.

Youtube how ever is the more stupid things you do, the more famous you get. And that doesn't do it for me, I'd never get in front of a camera and do really really stupid shit like the shit I've seen on there with 1 million views. On websites and shit it's always the stupid motherfuckers that get the most attention. If you want to be serious pack your bags homie.
