the best I've heard were Pacewon and Mr. Green's 'The only color that matters is green' and Nas' 'unititled'
LAX was good too.

LAX had 2 great songs (my life and letter to the king) and the rest were average or below average)

Untitled had the best song of the year (America) but got repetitive to fast.

Paper Trail had some amazing tracks and had great replay value BUT on the great tracks his flow and rhyme structure was basically the same and then he had some SHIITTY ass songs like whatever you like and porn star...

Raw Footage was aite at best.

Halfway House was amazing, Just to be Different > *

i'ma have to go with that or paper trail.

IMO it'd have to be Paper Trail hands down, followed by Tha Carter III...wait, can we count Chamillionaire's Mixtape Messiah 4 since it was pretty much an album but brought out as a mixtape? cuz i'd put that on my list

thats a brave shout

tough call this year, there hasnt been that many that blew me away and stuck in my mind.

TI: Paper Trail - good and catchy, most of the songs i heard on the radio i turned up

Ll Cool J: Exit 13 - nothing spectacular, but great compared to most that was released this year.

Gym Class Hereoes: The Quilt - couple of decent tracks, but just wasnt strong enough in my opinion

Ice Cube: Raw Footage - Very good, made me bump along numerous of times, proberly just nicked 2nd place

Nas: Untitled - a really good album, although he raps about the same thing all the way through, it was a strong album and proberly my 1st choice

Ludacris: theatre of the mind very catchy, some good nod along to'ers album flowed, nice proberly joint 3rd with paper trail

So at the moment i would put them in

1) Untitled
2) Raw Footage
3) Paper Trail / Theatre Of The Mind
4) Exit 13
5) The Quilt

thats at the moment, i havent yet checked out;
EPMD: We Mean Business
JMT: History Of Violance
N.E.R.D: Seeing Sounds
Nelly: Brass Knuckles
Trick Trick: The Villian
Black Milk: Tronic
Devin The Dude: Landing Gear
Snoop Dogg: Ego Trippin'
The Game: Lax
Young Jeezy: The Recession

so my opinion may change :y:

LAX, Paper Trail and Theater of the Mind :y:

Nas's was great but it was pretty boring, cant listen to the whole thing continuously.

I think 2008 belongs to Strange Music, 'cause they released so many sick albums this year. :)
But my favorite albums are:
Ice Cube - Raw Footage
Conscious Youths - See Why
Bliss N Eso - Flying Colours
Pace Won and Mr. Green - The Only Color That Matters is Green
Kanye West - 808's And Heartbreaks
N-Dubz - Uncle B
Ras Kass - Institutionalized Vol. 2

My favorite Mixtapes:
Proof - Mayor Of Detroit Mixtape
Kid Cudi - A kid named Cudi Mixtape
Last.FM!
