12/17/08 Lil Wayne Asks For More Time In Lawsuit

Lil Wayne's lawyers are asking for more time in a copyright infringement lawsuit the New Orleans rapper is currently facing. The lawsuit states that Weezy did not have the right to sample Karma Ann Swanepoel's "Once" track for his mixtape hit "I Feel Like Dying." Wayne's lawyers requested an extention until Friday (12/19) to review documents before they turn over their documents to the plaintiff, Urband & Lazar Publishing.

The lawsuit says that Cash Money Records did try to negociate an agreement to legally sample the song but were unable to do so. Lil Wayne went ahead and put the song on a mixtape and his MySpace profile page.
