1/22/09 Jay-Z Gives Blueprint 3 Update

Although there have been many reports that Jigga's "Blueprint 3" would be coming soon, Jay-Z says he is taking his time. "For me, the process of making an album is difficult with so many things going on," Jigga says. "And me, I wanna make it beyond and above. I'm gonna take my time with it. I don't have any quotas, and that's a good thing. It may be too freeing. It's a good thing and a bad thing. You know, I think I need some restrictions. 'Cause if I had restrictions, I would have done it in three weeks. I would have made what I believe to be a great piece of art. I actually recorded a lot of records already. You know, all those records that leaked [online] were on The Blueprint 3."

Previously Kanye had said he recently finished Jay-Z's album, even giving a release date. "I'm constantly making music. We almost finished with Jay album." Kanye said "We almost finished before I even dropped my album. Jay album is coming in February." Kanye is producing most, if not all, of the album. Jay-Z says he will leak the finished version of "Jockin Jay-Z" soon as he ads a third verse.

I feel like Jay is running out of things to talk about... Maybe he knows that since he's taking his time with the album...

With those doubts aside, I'm still eager for The Blueprint 3.

Yeah there may be truth to that. That was one thing Biggie had going against him. He was repetitive by his 2nd album. Jay has been able to keep things fresh by just talking about his life. Where he's come since the last album. I think with the American Gangster CD he had a break long enough to let some shit happen and he's gonna str8 kill it like it did with The Black Album

Well he's been working on it for a few months already and he doesn't seem to be pumping out any tracks. I mean we all know that he records all the time, so if he has a mass of tracks to pick from then I'm sure the album will be fine. What I know for sure is that he's probably one of THE BEST when it comes to putting an album together, so I'm not worried at all.

It should be a good year though. Some of 50's latest tracks have been pretty good. Eminem's new CD is coming out and I think it'll be a good album. Dre's CD might come out, but probably won't until 2014. Should be good shit.
