Ehem...Lil Wayne

Postby Rapsoldier101 » Jan 26th, '09, 09:05

I Saw a topic about why wayne is so rated. Well im going to be perfectly honest. Wayne RIGHT NOW is very overrated...BUT he (IMO) used to be pretty good...And he has had a couple songs with decent lyrics...Honestly the shit you hear on the radio is just verses he throws on songs. If you want to hear wayne at his best listen to these songs: (note: Alot of you still might not like him, but it might change ur mind atleast in the slightest bit)

Lil Wayne - Something You Forgot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Tk1n6kukNk

Lil Wayne - Playing With Fire http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3osvFMFXhWI&feature=related

Lil Wayne - Birdman JR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3osvFMFXhWI&feature=related

Lil Wayne - Beat Without Bass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=149Nsyv2Zgc

These are the songs i like from him so i thought id share ....

I'm pretty sure most of those are pre Drought 3 and it's common knowledge he was nice before that point with a couple good songs after that point.

Yea. Thats the point i was trying to get across. He fell off, but still can be good when he wants to be. But people on this forum make it seem like he was never good and hes just oh soo terrible, its not even like that.

Yeah I know what you mean. But when he releases Lollipop, then A Millie, then Got Money, the Mrs. Officer (Mrs Officer being one of the worst songs I've ever heard) it's hard for people that are just getting into him to see how he could ever be good. I still stand by the notion that he's a product of sick beats and good timing. Notice how he blew up when none of the BIG names were dropping anything. I mean there was no Em, no GOOD 50, no Jay, not even any TI or Outkast. It was like running the 100 meter dash with a 5 minute head start.

Exactly, He was good, but NEVER the Best Rapper Alive. He just found the right time, and called himself the best rapper alive, and like you said no one was out to disagree. AND on top of all that, Jay z had just retired so everybody needed a new rapper to call the Best Rapper alive. cuz if u remember on the song "Bring It Back" which came out after "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" wayne said "The Best Rapper Alive, Since The Best Rapper Retired" and people just ran with it.

Lil Wayne definitely has talent, but he is given too much credit for his music. His lyrics don't make sense half the time and the ones that actually have some type of plot are oversimplified.

Bottom line, Wayne is wasted up and needs to sit down somewhere and shut up. No one wants to hear his voice on the radio anymore.

Fuck Lil Wayne, and fuck you if you like him.

You can give us a thousand reasons, but end of the day he blew up from his shit hip-pop songs, not from his supposedly decent old music. He is a fucking idiot and the music he's producing now is what he's judged on: and it's fucking shit.
