If the Royce version had the production value of the Jay version it would be amazing. Jay's verses suck.

I think in general Royce rhymes much better than Jay and I've always liked him more.

However, Jay spits two really good verses on Renegade--ones that have meaning. Royce's were more lyrical. And on top of that, the production and sound quality of Jay's and Em's is so much better than Royce's and Em's.

So I like Royce's better, but this song, production and meaning definitely goes to Jay and Em

i never really liked jay's flow on this so im going to have to go with the royce version...do you guys think Em kept the original vocals for the jay version or re-record them? i think he kept the original cuz it sounds exactly the same pronunciation wise except for the "royce king of detroit" thing

I used to listen to both in my mp3 and compare them. And I think Royce's version reminds me of Eminem in Dead Wrong Remix. I like Royce's version more.

Jay-Z's verses were dope. He was just overshadowed by Eminem's brilliance...

I think I prefer the Jay-Z/Eminem version...it just fits better. On the Royce version you hear Eminem being all serious, rapping about how his music is unfairly portrayed and misunderstood, while Royce is talking about getting drunk with Proof. It just kinda takes away from the point of the song.
