The Hills Have Eyes Movies

The Hills Have Eyes - The only comment I have about this movie, is that the lucky ones die first!!! So if that tells you anything, run away why you still can!!!
Wes Craven produces this remake of his 1977 classic of the same name, about the Carters, an idyllic American family travelling through the great American southwest. But their trip takes a detour into an area closed off from the public, but more importantly, from society. An area originally used by the U.S. Government for nuclear testing that was intended to be empty...or so they assumed? When the Carter's car breaks down at the old site, they're stranded...or are they? As the Carters may soon realize that what seemed like a car casually breaking down, might actually be a trap. This trap might be perpetrated by the inhabitants, deformed cannibals, of the site who aren't pulling a prank, but are out to set up a gruesome massacre!

The Hills Have Eyes 2 - In the first film I stated that the lucky ones die first, in the sequel, the lucky ones prey to die fast!!!
A team of trainees of the National Guard brings supply to the New Mexico Desert for a group of soldiers and scientists that are installing a monitoring system in Sector 16. They do not find anybody in the camp, and they receive a blurred distress signal from the hills. Their sergeant gathers a rescue team, and they are attacked and trapped by deformed cannibals, having to fight to survive.

You know you have to have a huge confidence booster, not to mention a gigantic ego to make a remake of your own original movie. Wes Craven released the original The Hills Have Eyes in 1977, and I don't know what sparked a flare in him to reproduce it, but it was, if not better, than his original make. Maybe it was because it was filmed in today's time, or maybe it had better casting, whatever it is, he made the right call. And he even got cocky and released a Sequel to the film, which had never originally been thought of. It had a great concept and was horribly disgusting, which makes a great blend in my book. These are a great pair of movies to watch on a stormy night, but not alone, and have all the doors locked, check the closets, and don't forget under the bed. And DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT eat anything while watching these movies!!! Your stomach won't be able to handle it, trust me!!!

I love the fact that the Military found an enemy they couldn't defeat or what in their training manuals on how to handle the situation...

What didn't you like about the movie?

They're first reaction to something if they don't know how it functions or operates, or it doesn't conform to their norms, is to experiment and torture until they get the information they're looking for. It's something so horrible, but it's reality... :'(
