-Wait Death Race? I thought I signed up for Transporter 4.
Summary- Jensen Ames is framed for the murder of his wife and sent to prison. The warden offers to set him free if he can dresses up as recently deceased racer Frankenstin and win five car races from the hit series Death Race.
Review- Poor Jason Statham, he’s become type-casted into a guy who a). drives really well and b). can kick lots of butt. Death Race, a remake of a 1975 film Death Race 2000, isn’t much different from the usual movies Statham does: great car chase/race scenes and lots of action. However, surprisingly, the story is pretty well done and some of the characters (mainly Machine Gun Joe Mason) are well developed too. Basically if you ever wondered what Twisted Metal as a movie would be like or if you think races should include cars that can destroy each other, then this movie will be perfect for you. It’s a good action movie and I’d recommend it over some of Statham’s other works such as Transporter 2 and 3, simply because the story is more interesting.
