I, Robot

Postby Ivy » Feb 6th, '09, 21:16

"What would you pay to not have to lift a finger for the rest of your life, well, these Robots think the perfect price is...well, your own life!"

Set in a future Earth (2035 A.D.) where robots are common assistants and workers for their human owners, this is the story of "robotophobic" Chicago Police Detective Del Spooner's investigation into the murder of Dr. Alfred Lanning, who works at U.S. Robotics, in which a robot, Sonny , appears to be implicated, even though that would mean the robot had violated the Three Laws of Robotics, which is apparently impossible. It seems impossible because.. if robots can break those laws, there's nothing to stop them from taking over the world, as humans have grown to become completely dependent upon their robots. Or maybe... they already have? Aiding Spooner in his investigation is a psychologist, Dr. Susan Calvin, who specializes in the psyches of robots.

Do you think this is one of Smith's better choices for a role in a movie???

This was one of his worse movies, in my opinion, but then again, with the amount of successful movies under his belt, that's not too saying much. In fact, I found I,Robot a lot more enjoyable than most movies. Definitely worth it to check out for sci-fi fans. Oh, also Isaac Asimov, the writer of the books this movie is based off of, is awesome...although I heard this movie was really different from the books.

I really didn't enjoy this movie because it's SciFi based. Independence Day, Smith's original SciFi role is what's waying him down when he tries to do movies like this. He can't live up to his acting Performance's he created when he first started out...
