Who's Your Favorite Producer Of The 90's?

Postby Xray » Mar 8th, '09, 09:22

The 90's is known to be the best 10 years in Hip Hop's history, craziest beats have been made in that time, so its only right I make a poll about the 90's producers. Me personally I love 90's beats, it was raw as hell. Here's some info on the producers, to refresh your memory:

Eric B - from the rap duo Eric B & Rakim.
Eric Sermons - from the rap group Def Squad (aka the group Redmans in).
DJ Premier - from the rap duo Gang Starr.
Dr. Dre - well its obvious who he is.
Havoc - from the rap duo Mobb Deep.
Pete Rock - from the rap duo Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth.
RZA - from the rap group Wu-Tang Clan.
Trackmasters aka Poke & Tone - Aka the guys that produced most of Nas - It Was Written album.

I think that's the main producers of the 90's, if I missed someone than I'm sorry. ;)

I voted for DJ Premier though it was pretty hard. His beats just amaze me, I'm in love with them. I also really like Havoc's beats specially on The Infamous. But I have to go for Premo. Man it's Mass Appeal, You Know My Steez, Above The Clouds, The Militia, etc. Wow...

Rza by a fucken mile, followed by Premo :b: , although!, Pete rock, would easily take first to, its just that, what rza done in the 90s, with all the wu tang albums, hes certified #1, not to mention the Gang Starr albums by Prem, oh, well, nah to hard lol, these producers are to high class its imposible to get a " best ", more like favorite from the 90s

dr.dre would be most overrated and Havoc the most underrated IMO, Havoc created Survival of the Fittest and Shook Ones part II at such a young age, both instrumentals still hold up really well today, damn legendary, but yeah, Rza is just that master producer

Yeah RZA has the most raw sounding beats ever no doubt about that, but Premo is untouchable what so ever, every track he has produced is a fucking dope song or a classic. And your right there is no best, should have put who's your favorite producer my bad, I'll change that now. But most influencing producers to me are, Havoc, Eric Sermon & Premo. Poke & Toke are VERY fucking underrated to, the beats they produced for It Was Written is just crazy, I open FL each time I listen to "The Message" that beat is just so inspiring its awesome.

Havoc, Eric Sermon & Premo > Legends of the 90s. :worship:
