Talib Kweli - what to check out and why.

Postby yoshi » Mar 15th, '09, 18:28

So for all those who haven't heard him (Slim Zaddy :) ) or those who still need it to be proven that he's great and deserves some credit for that amazing work called 'music'.

Hmm.. I like Kweli more. Mos is good too and I love them collabing, but uhh.. I think Kweli's better. It's his voice, his flow, his lyrics - it all keeps me listening to him :)
'Respiration' with Mos and Common is just great, it's orgasmic I'd say. I love how Mos flows on his verse and chorus, it's so laid-back and in my mind, I can literally see what they're talking about. *bumps*

I love Respiration! Specially how it begins with Mos Def's flow. Very good thread :y:

Talib Kweli is one of the greatest to ever pick up the mic. His voice turned me away from him at first, but you really just can't deny that he's one of the best. Period. It's really sad when I think that Jim Jones, MIMS, and fuckin Soulja Boy can get hours of radio play every week, but I've only heard Get By a handful of times on the radio.

I never heard Talib on the radio here, but I stopped worrying about it looong time ago. I know, many people dislike his voice, no idea why - personally I love it, I think he's got one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard in my life, including Chali2Na from J5. :8) But I can understand that, that's the reason I can't listen to more than 2 MF Doom's songs lol (hope Asp won't read it :D).

I soooo want him to come to Poland again, I been to his performance last summer. I was electrified.
