I'm Making A Cheap Recording Booth - Help?

I'm planning on making a cheap recording booth in my closet. Do you guys recommend any certain microphones or any other tips to creating a decent but affordable booth? Sound insulation, pop filters, recording programs, what do you use? Thanks.

I more recommend a basement, in a closet u'll have too much ambiance if ur using a condensor mic.

Also depends wat quality ur aming for, if u dont have the chance to make full insulation, buy a dynamic mic with good quality, and use pop filter :y: youll get pretty decent demo quality.

A couple years ago we had a little studio set up in my buddy's apartment closet. The shit was tight as hell and you got cramped if there were more than 3 people in there at once, but the quality was actually pretty damn impressive for having NO prossional equiptment. We used a cheap little dollar store microphone, and we taped that against his damn broken closet door, lmao. Around the walls we put up blankets 'cause he couldn't get any styrafome, but it still sounded fresh. If you're looking to fuck around and just have some fun, I deffinetly reccommend trying something like that out!
