Joe budden - Pray For Me, Classic ?

Postby ,-,'-{Bar}-',-, » Apr 16th, '09, 16:18

yeh im slow on the uptake i aint had time to check the albums i wanted to so i only heard this track yesterday.

got to say though, its classic, like hip hop classic, first one i heard in a LONG time in my opinion and probly the only one i think budden has. the concept is awesome, the angle he attacks god at, gods replies, all of it is amazing. i personely dont think there had been a classic hip hop track like a "stan" a "new york state of mind" been released in a long time, and this is one to me.

anyone agree ?

sick song...but to me its only as good or as bad as exxxes, which is also brilliant.no legendary status, but maybe with time (like there hasn't been 'nuff already)..
how did he do that to his voice...just deepen the pitch?
whose arm is this?..i must've cut it off at the pharmacist

Word, Pray 4 Me is a classic. The way he lays his soul on that track while conversing with God is brilliant, eventhough the concept isn't original; it's still a fucking sick song. The whole album is dope, I agree with Threeandtwenty on Exxxes, dope ass song.

YES! I had the same feeling about "Pray For Me". It's my fave track on the album, it always gives me chills when I listen to it. Probably the best track I've heard in a looong time. I love the dialogue with God and the accusations about world being fucked up and babies being born retarded and how God replies. And in the end, when he says he hopes he'll be a better man next time and there'll be no need to talk when meet again. :y:

I'm not sure yet, I'm waiting to see if it can stand the test of time. I mean I loved it when I first heard it but I haven't listened to it in a while, now maybe that's because I overheard it the first couple of weeks. I'll just have to wait a while to see if I can get into it again.
