I like this song alot. The verses are crazy and have great wordplay and lyrics. I dont really like the hook, but in his interview he said that he felt like people were only worried about a hook and a beat. So maybe he is just focusing on his verses and i'm sure Relapse will have better hooks than that. These verses and the flow in We Made You shows me at least that Relapse has the potential to be GREAT.. Like I said in another topic, he wouldn't be putting out 2 Cds in one year if the first wasn't GREAT....

dam, im actually starting to feel this song alot, the start of it reminds me of "Amityville" were he goes aheeem ahyaaaa aheeem ahyaaaa. The vid will be awesome!

Its on my ipod and just listened to it after rain man from encore and felt wow his got alot more energy again now, rain man was so slow n clumsy, he just seemed tired, but this is high and a nice horror effect.

i'd like to make a few mature points about this song...this is strictly MY OPINION

1) 3 AM is the illest Em has been lyrically since Infinite
2) The "accent" fits this ---horrorcore mixed with cartoon violence--- subject matter
3) If you don't like this ---horrorcore mixed with cartoon violence--- subject matter you probably won't like Relapse all that much
4) Relapse looks to be a concept album - duh lol
5) For the Big Weenies on here, Em will have your "depressing personal soulful tracks"...there's no doubt about that, he's not gonna strangle his cousin with Christmas tree lights and drink his bath water for 16 songs (would be sick tho haha). And if your're lucky he might even throw a Proof verse on it
6) Like it or not, Eminem is different now....
7) Relapse = SSLP on steroids

I heard it yesterday, but I didn't really have an opinion on it. Today after listening again, I really like it. I wouldn't really call his voice an accent, but rather a different inflection than we're used too. I think it fits the song though. And the lyrics are on point, so I think its good.

I can't stop listening to it. The flow is just brain-spinning and the wordplay is engaging as fuck.

It's an addictive song once you get used to it. Creates classic imagery.

And I'm not sure about the most lyrical since Infinite... Kill You from MMLP... That was pretty untouchable.

He's more literal now, the assortment of words is probably better than ever but I don't hear as many metaphors n stuff now.

Thats straight respect coming from one of the dopest lyricists around. He knows that this is ILL. Relapse is gonna earn Em mad respect, cuz he's doin him and not tryin to do industry crap.

ok, some how i missed his number 1. i agree with everything else besides the infinite refrense. MMLP was the sickest he has every been lyricaly b/c he combined lyrics with emotion and humor so well on that LP. besides that. 3 am is the shit. i think this is the first thing me and Sac agree upon. lol

First off I'm actually gonna defend the accent or change in his voice on this track. I've always disproved of it before, but I think in the context of this lunatic character in "3 a.m" his acccent is perfect. The flow and rhymes are off the charts, best I've heard from Eminem in around 5 years, honestly. I'm not mad on the hook, and the "guessed I must've killed 'em" line is one of the worst lines ever, really bad. But he still makes it amusing, and it's still catchy after a few listens. The beat is boring and the song itself as a whole is not great, but the rhyming and flow are unbelievable. I'm delighted with this, can't wait for the album.
