Honestly, I don't really care how well it does commercially and all that shit. I used to, and i'd always say "em's goin platinum first week" and all that shit.I think that's one of the main problems with hip hop right now, everyone cares about stats and all that shit that shouldnt matter. Ppl like 50, who always mention the numbers, are helping to kill hip hop. Em, I like what he said in that XXL article, how he really just wanted to rap because he missed it, and that he just wants to be respected as an MC. This is a song for all the hip hop heads, and all the people that actually listen to lyrics and care about shit like that (not just the chorus). All the ppl sayin em's lost it, seriously can go fuck themselves. You can really say whatever the fuck you want, when the album comes out. I think 3 AM is a GREAT sign of whats to come. I bet if Brain damage and If I Had came out right now, ppl would b like WTF em's voice sounds retarded. He's not even doing an accent in this song barely, I think hes just doing his own voice. The songs great, and btw it is better than Like Toy Soldiers (Encore's second single). I wanna hear fuckin Relapse right now, shits gonna b off the CHAIN.....

When I first heard that I was in total awe, it was a brilliant way to start off the song.

And I know there's been all these complaints about his accent and the guy on the radio show said he didn't like his cadence 'cause he's still doing that whiny voice... But if you listen to the song and really take it all in, it enhances the vibe of it. It makes him sound psychotic, deranged, and crazy, which is the point of the song.

Having played the song an obscene amount of times since it was first released, I don't even notice the accent anymore. I'm not programming my brain to like it or ignoring certain aspects of it either, accent or no accent I still think it was a well-executed track. He's used accents before I'm just having a hard time understanding why people are going so gaga over it. Was it because of the rumors floating around about a possible Proof tribute? As for the 'The Way I Am' comparison Dawuan Parker eluded to, it makes zero sense.

There are so many great things on 3 AM that I feel like people are missing out on. The Silence of the Lambs reference.

And about the sell-out...wtf, if he where a sell-out he wouldnt have put out that as a single, its not radio-friendly. This is for his true fans, who knows hiphop. The accent is the only thing I complain about, but its easy to oversee it.. the lyrics is fire, the beat is fire.. im not saying its a classic, but whatever. Yes, we need some deep Eminem stuff, but on the MMLP, did he put out the best songs as a single? No Neither on the SSLP.
I like that he concentrates on his lyrics more than before. That he has only 50 and Dre on the album shows hes confident about his own shit, he knows that with a Nelly/Jada/Ross album full of features is not what the fans want, we dont buy an Eminem album cuz we want to listen to 50, lol. A classic album has few features (Blueprint, Ready to Die, SSLP, Illmatic).
I remain confident that this album is a 5/6 stars album if not better.
He will come with a fresh breath of air to hiphop

When I first heard 3 AM, I thought it sounded cool. I loved the flow and the hook was good. But when I first listend to the actual words. It sent a shiver down my spine, the hairs on my arm went up. That is dark song, it's what I think M does best. He knows ho to get into your head with his words.
