Why does Asher Roth keep Releasing Shitty Ass Singles?

Talking about his album that hasn't even broken 200,000... nowhere near the realm of Gold let alone Platinum. And obviously it was an exaggeration...

just because he doesnt make music that fits your style, doesnt make him an average rapper. did you even bother to check his mixtape?

I spent an entire week listening to as much Asher Roth as I could (just like I did with Charles Hamilton) and decided after that point that he was very average. His mixtape was decent at best and his album was a step above meh. Granted it's only my opinion, it is a justified and thought-out one.

Contrary to what's been said, I actually enjoyed the album and was able to bump to it. With the exception of La Di Da though, no song really has any replay value or is outstanding, the album as a whole is just really average. I was surprised he doesn't release like She Don't Want a Man or a more radio friendly song. I like Be By Myself, but it's just not for the radio group and plus--the music video sucked major dick.

In summation! I like the album, but it's not going anywhere.

His Dream is peaceful
Fallin' is sweet too

I mean obviously this isn't a great album, but there's a couple of solid tracks that have some replay value on them..so I don't think it's total fucking garbage. And the thing I like about Asher is he has that hunger in him that I miss in Eminem.

Okay, I am not a big enough Asher Roth fan to even think of like lines or songs that portray his hunger (maybe Perfectionist?) but I definitely see where you're coming from. His flow is so laid back and lazy. But I still think the guy's pretty hungry from his interviews and I think some of his tracks..

Asher isn't bad, but the album isn't great...neither was the mixtape, imo. Seriously, "Gimme Your Box"? All of the songs with his friends featured were terrible; his solo songs were alright, but not "dope", I wouldn't say so anyway. He's worth a listen, but no, he's not the future of hip hop by any means. I'd say he lacks the hunger that some other artists have....

But he's far better than some of the artists that DO have the hunger, like Lil' Wayne. Just my opinion though.
