Dr. West (Skit)- 10/10 (Sets up the album and next track flawlessly.)

3am- 7.5/10 (The beat is dope, especially the intro. The flow is very repetitive though.)

My Mom- 8.5/10 (Trumpets/drums are very reminiscent of "What's the Difference" from Dr. Dre's sophomore album, 2001 [1999.] The hook is slightly irritating, but the lyrics are very good.)

Insane- 8.5/10 (Beat is dope. Lyrics are dope. No accent. Hook needs a little work though.)

Bagpipes from Baghdad- 7.5/10 (The instruments are very... unique. The accent is very heavy and the lyrics are good, except it's repetitive flow. Funny auto-tune at the end though. :D)

Hello 9/10 (You cannot beat the drums or the hook.)

Tonya (Skit)- 7/10 (A typical kidnap, but her voice sounds like she's getting raped.)

Same Song & Dance- 6.5/10 (The beat isn't as polished as the other ones. Kinda boring overall.)

We Made You- 8/10 (The hook is very catchy and the wordplay is ridiculous. His flow is insane.)

Medicine Ball- 7.5/10 (Average track with the signature banging drums. I like the part with the "drop bombs" in the intro.)

Paul (Skit) 7/10 (Another pointless comment from his faithful manager.)

Stay Wide Awake- 9/10 (Dope beat. The wordplay/lyricism is... so good. His flow is killer too.)

Old Time's Sake- 7/10 (I never really understood what is so good about this track. Dre sounds better than Eminem, sadly, to me. The beat is very similar to In Da Club's instrumentals.)

Must Be the Ganja- 7/10 (Average. Nothing more to say. But the hook is funny and flows well.)

Mr. Mathers (Skit)- 10/10 (Leads so well into the next track I couldn't tell when the next track actually started to play.)

Deja Vu- 10/10 (Personal song about how drugs influenced his life and why he took the in the first place. Reminds me of The Eminem Show [2002].

Beautiful- 10/10 (The sampling is very cool. And I just like this track just because.)

Steve Berman (Skit)- 9/10 (Not as funny as the first Steve Berman skit on the MMLP [2000].

Underground/Ken Kaniff- 10/10 (Why is the chorus so epic? And the non-accented wordplay is like Criminal. Awesome. The ending was dragging though.)

Overall- 8/10
Yo, from the first to the last of it; delivery is passionate/
The whole and not the half of it; vocab and not the math of it/
Projectile that them blasted with; accurate assassin shit/
Me and Kweli close like... Bethlehem and Nazareth/

Just thinking: Eminem will never name the following album of relapse just 'Relapse 2'. Wouldn't it be beter if he named it 'Rehab' ?

How many people you know that can name every serial killer
Who ever existed in a row?, put them in chronological order
Beginning with Jack the Ripper
Name the time and place from the body, the bag, the zipper
Location of the woods where the body was dragged and then dumped
The trunk that they was stuffed in, the model, the make, the plate
And which model, which state they found her and how they attacked the victim
Say which murder weapon was used to do what on which one
Which knife and which gun, what kid, what wife and which nun
Don't stop, I like this it's fun, the fuckin' night's just begun

Cant believe some people dont like that song the 3 verses are dope and the hooks catchy,i played the part i posted over and over til i learned it all its fuckin class.

I saw someone on a different site say that it was all weak/average apart from Medicine Ball.. lol.. FAIL

For me, it's alot like ES. On MMLP/SSLP i have songs i love, some i don't care for, and it's always the same. For ES i constantly switch between how much i appreciate different songs, and go through fazes of loving certain individual songs. And i've done it with Relapse since it's come out :y:

And @ Back.Again, i think Em is treating the word "Relapse" as a switch back to his original style, rather than the drug/alcohol term hinted at in the first Relapse, obviously because it's his first music since recovering. I think Em's got an idea for the link between the 2 albums, but i can't even guess to what it is exactly lol Who can with Em???

The album keeps getting better the more times i play it. Definitely has some classic songs on here.

I would say this album has more of what i would call "classic" songs than any Eminem album. It also has some pretty bad songs so that takes a little bit away from it and its not quite MMLP or TES.

classic songs for me:
Same Song and Dance - 2nd favorite
Stay Wide Awake - my FAVORITE
Deja Vu- 5th favorite
Beautiful - 4th favorite
Underground - 3rd favorite

so many good songs imo:
my mom
insane
bagpipes from baghdad
hello
medicine ball
must be the ganja

even a couple OK songs:
3 am
old times sake

2 garbage songs that really bring the album down imo:
we made you
crack a bottle

TES > MMLP > Relapse > SSLP > Encore

It's the way it's written and flowed that I find impressive.

When he gets into the detail, citing like "The body, the bag, the zipper" and the car models etc lol, it's just flowed so smoothly and interestingly. The way he's chosen to structure it.

Oh ok thanks, I'll give it another listen.

I wanted to wait a few days and made sure I listened to each song a few times before I judged it and heres what my critique of the album is

3 Am - 8.5/10
- Took me a while to get used to his flow, but once I got past that I could see that he's lyrics were just plain insane.

My Mom - 9.5/10
-One of my favorites on the album. It is silly and funny as fuck. Eminem is a great story teller and this song is proof. Reminds me of the old slim shady tracks like "Brain Damage". Good Song

Insane - 8/10
-Again, this song is proof that em is a great story teller, even if the story is creepy as shit. The reason I rated it lower that "My Mom" is because of the flow. It just didn't seem to mesh. The chorus was nice though.

Bagpipes from Baghdad - 7/10
-The beat was tight and all, but the flow just ruined it for me. I am also gettin sick of hearing about Mariah. Just not his strongest, and it kind of felt like a filler track.

Hello - 8/10

Same Song & Dance - 7.5/10

We Made You - 7.5/10
-Of course this is em jus bein silly, and it's an okay track. Probably my least favorite on the album though.

Medicine Ball - 7.5/10

Stay Wide Awake - 9/10

Old Times Sake - 8.5/10

Must Be The Ganja - 8/10

Deja Vu - 10/10 :worship:
-This song is WONDERFUL. I like the fact that he's reflecting on his life in a less cartoonish way in this song. The rest of the album is more exaggerated, and this one seems more realistic. It's in a tie with Beautiful for my favorite song on the Album.

Beautiful - 10/10 :worship:
-Another Great Song.

Crack a Bottle - 8/10
-Good hype track, jus didn't fit the feeling of the album.

Underground - 9.5/10
-Nice track, and it's also nice to see the return of Ken Kaniff. i missed that Guy.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10

I give Encore a 7/10, so Relapse is deff better than Encore in my eyes. I do wish to see more guests on relapse 2, and maybe some more songs like Deja Vu and Beautiful.

Same Song and Dance is easily one of the best songs on Relapse, so people giving We Made You and Old Time's Sake better ratings are crazy.

The undeniably awesome songs from Relapse include Deja Vu, My Mom, Medicine Ball, Insane, and Underground/Ken Kaniff.

I don't really get the hype about Beautiful. His voice doesn't sound good on it and his rhyming structure is VERY sub-par in comparison to the rest of Relapse. The production on it is what basically saves it from being a bad song IMO.
