SALES REHAB: Based on very preliminary reports, it would appear that Eminem's Relapse, which hit retail today, will sell somewhere in the mid-500k range, and easily top next week's HITS Album sales chart. If these early figures hold up, that would make it the year's highest-selling debut of the year, giving Jimmy Iovine's Interscope the top two bows of the year, including U2's No Line on the Horizon, which entered at #1 with 480k back in March. I don't know much about sales, but i just can't see it doing less than Encore

It's topping all the iTunes, selling out in alot of stores, and had sold thousands through, preorders before the thing had even come out.

I mean Encore sold 700,000, did it get as much buzz as this? I don't think it did

Well 500k is a lot, but who knows, in a few days when some numbers come in early we'll know where he is definitely, and around where he'll go first week

Well , for Encore he was coming off of the Eminem Show so people probably bought it off of faith. There also were no hit singles for Relapse so I'm sure that's hurting it. Hopefully if people like it word will spread by word of mouth.

From what I've seen on the net most word of mouth isn't too good except from stan sites like this, i'm a stan so no one freak out at me haha, but again, we'll see in 6 days
