Why do a lot of Eminem fans listen to rock?

I think it's a no brainer this one really. It depends on the person of course, but most people like more than one genre of music. I've always been a huge fan of both rock and rap, and both are equally great imo. Maybe it's the rebellious attitude of both music genre's that got me interested, but it's the quality of the material and appreciation for each art that keeps me hooked. Both get the blood pumping and give you that adrenaline rush. I listen to both when in the gym for instance, great workout music.

Rock fans who only listen to Eminem probably just need to be educated more on other rappers with equally good music, there aren't many of that calibre, but there are a few. It's sometimes hard to convert a hardcore rock fan to listen to hip-hop, and vice versa with a hip-hop fan to metal. Some people can only enjoy one type of music, idiots.

No there not "idiots" I've heard more than 60 rock songs, some good, some shit, some really really good some really really bad. I don't hate rock at all, its just that I choose to listen to rap and rap only at all times because that's my strongest love in life. Haha, you just idiotised yourself. You admitted you listened to rock and then said you only listen to hip-hop, haha what an idiot. Lol, lmfao, haha. Me immature, lolz @ that!

Why choose to only listen to hip-hop though? Surely if you happen to like a song from a different genre, hip-hop won't feel "cheated on" by you for listening to it, will it? I love the lyrical rhyme shit in hip-hop, I've a passion for that. But I love the aggression in rock, and the amazing musical talent it takes to play guitar and drums at that level. Both are kick ass, and I'll continue to try and convert the die hard's to stuff they think they don't like. If I can influence one persons taste in music out of every ten I try, then that's a great success. Shit like that can change someone's life.

You keep listening to hip-hop only though, keep yourself shut out from the rest of the music world. You're not at all ignorant in doing that, and not at all depriving yourself of some great music.

I honestly on listen to rap, but that's not me saying I don't like other types of music. If shits on the radio or people are playin it or have it in their cars I might like the song or band, I just never listen to it, my entire itunes is all rap, so I can't relate as much. But I feel like most of it is what he talks about not because he's white, it just so happens that the person who is putting that content in his music is white.

Passion. Could you say any rapper as passionate as Em? I don't really listen to rap, mostly just to Em (and hungarian underground rap). Even when Em talks shit, he's puttin' his heart out. That's what I hear at his songs from 3 AM to Just don't give a fuck. People love honest things, that's coming from we being humans. Em is honest as FUCK! Plus he's got the best beats in the rap scene. Show me one rap song with music like Cleanin' out my closet, Say goodbye to Hollywood, or even We made you. That's why people love him! My mother loves him. My music teacher loves him. That's why rap is fucked up, cuz most of these rapper cats doesn't say shit. (Except for "I'm a gangstaaaaaaaa dontfuckwithmeyeahhh).

It's all about what you relate to, eminem raps about alot of the same stuff rock artists sing about. Thats why I enjoy eminem, I personally HATE rap music only like some of the songs but love every eminem song >.> go figure.

Come on, people, even rappers listen to all types of music. I'm mainly into hip-hop, and I always will be, but I'm also into The Doors, Pink Flloyd, and Led Zeppelin, cause they're all about real music.

I think Eminem can relate more to rock fans because of his themes and beats.

I can say I like many different types of music but I only actually "listen" to hip hop. As in, I can't have music like Rock or Jazz or Country or anything like that on my iPod because I just won't play those songs but it doesn't mean I don't like it.

I've come to a point where I feel that I've extended a big part of my Hip Hop musical knowledge to start looking into other genres, not meaning that I stop listening to Hip Hop but that I widen my music variation.

I don't have anything against Rock but I have tried to like it but nothing. What I mean by this is that I hear a Rock song and I don't feel anything at all. I just don't get interested nor I hate it, It's just blank really. It doesn't "touch" me. I mean I do have a few John Lennon and George Harrison songs and apart from that I quite like Queen but that's it.

Instead I've widened my musical knowledge to other genres than Rock and that is Reggae and Soul. I've been listening to Bob Marley for a while and I'm looking into other Reggae artists. And when it comes to Soul, I'm loving Marvin Gaye, especially Sexual Healing. Love that one. Then I quite like Barry White. I'm new to these genres but I'm looking into them slowly.
