Speaking simply technical terms, Lil Wayne has always been a dope lyricists with some of the better word play and metaphors around. If you think Lollipop and auto-tune is all Lil Wayne does...then you don't really have the basis to make claims like that. His new shit is not even hip hop so if you're gonna bring that up as your argument you might as not quote this.
Oh shut up.
We aren't "straight up ignorant" because we have a differing opinion to you.
I think Lil Wayne has had a massive impact on peoples' perception of hip hop. I use the term "killed hip hop" figuratively, as Lil Wayne alone doesn't have the power to crush a whole genre of music (though he's such a money-hungry cunt that he probably wishes he did); but since he's so popular, he represents what hip hop is to the mainstream, casual audience. And since the music that got him popular is what you call his bad music, that's no excuse as he's gladly made more of that kind of music to get more money. I don't care if he does have good music, he got big off making shit music and selling out, and made a lot of people think hip hop is nothing but talking in a stupid croaky accent about money, women and bling.
I'm not even gonna start on Soulja Boy, his infliction on hip hop is simple; he proves that you can be a fucking idiot and still make a million in hip hop.
