I like new eminem, but not as much as old em..if relapse was his 1st album I def wouldn't become a fan..I miss everything from em..his funny interviews, attitude even beefs and hair color..eminem was that guy that could say what ever he wants and just don't give a fuck..now he says shit, few days later he didn't mean it like that..bullshit..and his best friend died..so what..that's what people do..that was just his excuse to do drugs

Yeah I think this has a lot to do with it.
I mean I liked the old em, he stood out, now acting mature kinda makes him lose that "coolness" to him.

Menzo wrote:Well aside from Proof and rehab that helped him mature...he's also the father of two kids, anddddd he is 36 years old. It's not the same as when he was 28 and was pissin everyone off, at least then he was allowed to be immature. But now, ppl will probably think he's just being ridiculous, 36 years old and acting like he is 22 again, nahhh. But I think I like the new Em, because, he is capable of sayin and doin shit that the old Em could do, but he also can add a sense of maturity :)

He's Infinite, remember? ;)

agreed...but you know he has 3 kids right

hahahahah

but yeah em lost his public edge, but cuz he lost proof with it :'(
but lyricaly prob better than ever he just doesnt have the same smart ass lyrics like in "Just Dont Give A Fuck"

Yeah....I sorta miss that. The new Slim Shady is more "horror / druggie / murderer" influenced, while the old Slim Shady reminded me of a "Mad man / warped cartoon character". He doesn't use those sporadic off the wall rhymes anymore either. His rhyming is better than ever now, but the accent still makes me go  sometimes....I got used to it but it doesn't feel the same.

I`m glad we have new Eminem cause it would be annoying if he would do the same things he did like 10 years ago

People in music need to change their style sometimes...It would be fucked up if he made same thing he did with MMLP or SSLP

I've said this before and I'ma say it over and over again - Em is the best one ever for me. His new style, things he's talkin' about, the accent (call me a Stan, but I love it and mostly because I like different variations of languages) - all the new shit is great! But I love Em's art because I grew up on the shit he was showing through his lyrics. He changed my life, my attitude and shit. Some of his situations and moves was like an example for me. And now he IS still like an example for me, his life, his mistakes (I mean I try not to make 'em :sweating:)...
A real example: I don't smoke weed any more  :8) I stopped drinkin', I'm not sober ofcourse I do drink but a lot less then did before! :8)
I like the old Em - he was a daredevil, I was. I like the new Em - he grew up, it's time for me to grow up... :8)
Ted Bundy did it, John Gasey did it, Jeffery Dahmer did it, Jim Baker did it, Jimmy Swaggart did it, Lil Rick did it... And why me can't do it? :confusion:

The only thing I miss from the "new Em" is that he doesn't make beats anymore... or just not to his own album :'(
There will be my signature. It'll be a hot one. You'll look at it and say - wow that's a gangsta signature.

One Mic wrote:Eminem is one of my favourite artists of all time.

He is obviously a different person to the same artist we knew and loved 8 years ago or so but change doesn't neccessary mean it's bad. He is alot different certainly but I enjoyed Relapse and Relapse 2 should be good - he has a skill of rapping and certainly hasn't lost it. So while he's spitting lyrics into a microphone, always expect some fire because he's got it.

There are just loads of reasons why he has 'matured' since the Slim Shady LP / Marshall Mather LP era.

His age, his loss of best friend Proof, his turmoil over the last few years, his daughters are older and he is very much a family man so starting or responding to beef all the time isn't going to appeal to him. PLUS I guess deep down he feels lucky to be alive after his drug mis-use and is just having fun with the music now, he doesn't need to prove nothing to anyone.
