Blueprint vs. Stillmatic

Postby Relapse.LP » Jul 27th, '09, 08:02

Vote for your the album you think is better overall...

For me personally, as Jay-Z and Nas are my favorite MC's, I would choose Blueprint over Stillmatic, because I enjoy listening to the Blueprint better but in terms of lyricism, Stillmatic is better.

Please give reasons as why you like one album better... And only vote, if you actually listened to the albums... Don't put false claims without back-up information please.

You cannot be serious, people. Rule was not perfection, lol. One Mic and 2nd Childhood are dope, but ALL of them are awesome? Impossible.

I prefer Nas over Jay-Z.
I prefer Ether over Takedown.
But I prefer The Blueprint over Stillmatic.

The Blueprint to me is perfection, I can listen to it all non-stop and I enjoy it a lot. I actually really like Stillmatic as well but not as near as The Blueprint. I think Stillmatic tires me more. I love 2nd Childhood and Got Urself A...but to me Jay-Z's The Blueprint is an even more enjoyable album to listen to. Nothing beats Illmatic though.

I say Stillmatic. Its one of the only albums I can listen to completely.
Ether Killed Takeover, but Takeover is more fun to listen to.
Ether wins.

Blueprint because past Ether pwning Takeover Blueprint was a better album. I mean it's not a lot. It'd be like a 9.9 for illmatic and a 10 for Blueprint.

I voted Blueprint....I mean Stillmatic had the best diss track of all time on it but still Blueprint, JayZ had nothing to prove. Nas had to prove himself HENCE the name STILLMATIC. In my opinion I like B2 better than Blueprint because I liked almost all the tracks on the curse. But I still know Bluprint was more of a classic then Stillmatic. It would be a different story if it was Illmatic vs Blueprint or even reasonable doubt.

By the way I own both of these albums...and listen on a regular basis

Nah, I think No Vaseline by Icecube is the best diss cause it broke up NWA. Ether is awesome though!

I chose Blueprint just for the fact that I like Jay-z. :smoking:

But they're both Classic and either one could be argued as the best.

Naw I just enjoy Blueprint more than Stillmatic because, like Eagle said, Nas came in trying to prove something, Jay just came in off 100% inspiration spittin exactly what he was feeling at the time with no inhibition, and blew out every single track. And shit even though Takeover didn't have shit on Nas' Ether he raped Prodigy, so he still got someone when he let loose.

But isn't that the beauty of Stillmatic? That Nas sort of fell of, and rose back from his ashes again?

I see where your coming from, and in the end, its all about opinion, so I understand you point of view.
