because z is on bottom left, most people are right handed so wouldnt go there er sumin

i think before the keyboard was like A B C D E F G and then people typed to fast with it so they had to have a confusing arrangement and there comes QWERTY

why woudl they care about people typing to fast, because it got shit done in offices

Back in the old days, they put letters together on the keyboard that were generally together on words, so you could type really fast, but people were typing so fast they were breaking the keyboards so then they made it so you couldn't type really fast. But now that we have better keyboards that won't break I don't know why they don't go back to the faster way.

Oh no Solace is right he just reminded me. Back on the old type writers people had to push down really hard, so since the alphabet being in order allowed them to type so quickly people were typing fast and hard leading to carpotunnel (I know it's spelled wrong as fuck), so they changed it up so that the more popular letters were spread about so people would have to move their hands more to get to them and they made the letters more confusing so that people would have to just overall type slower.

Now they've gone even further with the ergonomics of the typing and started curving keyboards so you're not putting the same stress on your wrists and elbows holding your arms straight as opposed to the diagonal way they're supposed to go.
