I hadn't thought anything of it, but my friends dragged me to go see it where I literally had no clue what it was about. I was certainly in for a surprise.

The movie was insanely awesome. The intense firefights and everything you look for in an action movie coupled with the subtle political message made this movie easily the best movie of 2009.

Best movie in a long time.
It was actually quite an original story/scenario, unlike 99% of new movies.
I got to see it on a special pre-viewing 2 days before it was released through a radio station.
I'm going to go again soon lol
Maybe it's hatred I spew, maybe it's food for the spirit
Maybe it's beautiful music I made for you to just cherish
But I'm debated disputed hated and viewed in America
as a motherfuckin drug addict - like you didn't experiment?

District 9?

Postby Jay-19 » Aug 19th, '09, 15:18

How do you think this movie will be?

I think it looks kinda interesting actually, like something original and new, but with a known theme (i.e the aliens).

It's supposed to be really good. Heard the other day that it topped the Box Office, reviews are saying it's something really different, worth seeing :y:

Yeah like they said, I only heard good things, and one thing about it I heard was that it wasn't like the whole alien thing was so far-fetched, they apparently made it more realistic then most movies about aliens, and I wanna see it :y:

This movie is a very good catch, One of the best sci fi films in a long time that i enjoyed.. for a low budget film and the CGI i saw i would call this amazing, but i honestly do think its being overrated..

7.5-8/10 :y:

Yeah I agree. I finally saw it and thought what made it so good was how it was about aliens but the plot was 100% original, at least in regards to other aliens films, everything to me seemed like it hadn't been done before and that's why it was a great film.

Two things that stood out was that it wasn't a movie that took place in America and how they had the spaceship just fuckin hover for 2 decades :y:

Wow, just seen it last night and I must say I was pretty impressed. Only problem I had with the movie was the camera angles, it was too fast at times and you couldn't really appreciate the little details in the background. Other than that I thought it was awesome; the story was unique and I enjoyed watching this movie.

My guess is they're gonna make a sequel where all hell breaks loose, lol.
