why hip hop is "dead"

Postby spitz2 » Aug 28th, '09, 07:08

honestly i dont really think it is dead, but i can see how some say so. think back in the day.....think 106 n park. you had dope dudes on there. dmx, jay z, ludacris, eminem occasionally. but some how along the way lyrics moved to the back, n radio type shit showed up. now dont get me wrong, luda is on the radio, n so was jay z. but they were also good rappers. now, the people that were good back then get bad mouthed now by the people that only know of jeezy, wayne n gucci n shit. hip hop isnt dead cause we still have dudes like the ones named above, plus new guys like lupe, wale, apathy, tech n9ne who isnt really new, i just thought of him. its just those people have shit that go over your head, so people dont check for it. they want shit they can bump n dance to. its the commercialism of hip hop that put down the real hip hop. my opinion anyway

I think people need to get over the fact that mainstream hip-hop is not as acceptable as underground hip-hop. They r only underground cause they have yet to blow. Everyone in hip-hop now has an underground past and just got enough buzz to make the charts. Like who doesnt want tho money, fortune and the fame? Those that say they dont care about all that and just wanna put out "good music" is a fuckin liar. Ive had it on my mind a while now but, wasnt Jay-Z a back up dancer for foxy brown b4 he was anybody? Maybe im wrong but for some reason i thonk that and i havent googled his start up in the game.
