Best Years For HipHop

My friend asked me this a couple days ago and I said from 1996-2002...he asked what were the best years for hiphop within 10 years, where every album just about was good. And hip hop was alive and well. Even the radio was good in that time period. So what do you guys think?

Obviously 1988-1996

1990-2000 (thats when it started to go down hill a little bit), it started going down after 2pac and Biggie died

It didn't exactly go downhill after Pac and Big passed away, but the creativity and critical level lessened towards the end of the East Coast Renaissance towards the end of the 20th century.

94-96 were the best!

Maybe because currently, the quality and creativity of hip-hop music went waaay downhill. The majority of rappers now suck. They all aren't creative at all and don't make real shit. They just make stupid dance songs that become fads and last a month, or use Auto-Tune and shit, and their lyricisim is total shit. I, unfortunately, cannot regard any year past 2000 as the best years of hip-hop, even though these years include rappers such as Em and Jay and Kanye.

I'd also say 1990-2000. It was great then. Although the old school rap that dominates the 80s is still fresh and worth mentioning.

1999-2004 was good for Eminem. Not hip-hop. Get it straight.

2001 was pretty good though. The Nas Jay beef brought the best of them out.
