auto-tune = t-pain made it work, regardless of topic, t-pain gets all credit for the auto-tune movement, anyone who then copied t-pain is nothing but a mirror image of taking a style that he has defined and puting it into there own style to make it more relevent to the present time in hip hop. remember auto tune is a program, not a rhyme scheme, or a flow, a computer based voice enhancing program...


sex sells = lil kim ? 50 cent ? or wait for it, 2 live crew, who basically got there music banned for it being to "sex orientated" but that shit blew the fuck up when they came out with it, if my memory serves they were the first to do a whole song dedicated to sex and it was at a time rap wasnt like this, they paved the way for rappers not to be scared to go all out on the sex topic, and then lil kim is the one who went right into detail, 50 cent with candy shop basically took that to the male level. so lil wayne's "lollipop" was nothing but a guy doin a song about sex witch was done millions of times before and using auto-tune on it witch was done a milion times before, this is not creative or unique this is just someone using guimmicks.


now for impact, the impact carter 3 had on hip hop is no were near the level of illmatic, illmatic made a small earthquake when it dropped that no one felt, but then the aftershock of it was massive, when it finally got discovered it changed hip hop, this album will forever be remembered, not just for what it did for nas but what it did for hip hop, every rapper has heard this album, every rapper has gained inspiration from this album, there is truth in that this wasnt "new" but it perfected something that all rappers were trying to do, it has un-known feats a small tracklist and somehow is will always be mentioned a one of the greatest albums off all time.

tha carter 3 had a big impact because not alot of rappers were breaking 1 mil at the time and this album did this, but lets look at it, relapse has did this ? so has t.i, the speed of how wayne did it was impressive but sales can be fixed and manipulated. the impact the music had on the album was no were near the impact the songs on illmatic have had, "the test of time" will prove this so no point in speaking of it now, tell me one song off tha carter 3 that will still be as popular as "ny state of mind" in ten years time ? none. simple as that.

now for creativity, well this is alongside lyrical shit, wayne has "creative" and "different" beats ill give you that but thats credit to the producer not wayne, a millie, phone home these beats were very different to anything else, but illmatics rapping is what made it creative, the wordplay metaphors rhymes, no one had put that much lyrical pressence in an album before while staying on topic, rappers to this day strive to be able to spit a verse as versatile and creative and ny state of mind, his flows on that album are remarkable, and his choice of beats and concepts makes the album play-able from end to end without being bored, think what you want a creative or different concepts is a valid point but when the rapping over it is soley on proving its different then its not that good, as in if you get a good hip hop beat and then make it creative yourself with your rhymes flows and overal talent is when the rapper gets the "creative" credit.


just a few words, eminem takes normal concepts and raps then so well they sound mind blowing.


mobb deeps took something a concept as simple as shook ones and made it a classic through how the approached it with there rapping.

wayne takes a creative idea and soley lies on this different beat style to make it seem creativly great but really it isnt, its handed to him on a plate and he goes along with it, give wayne a normal beat and tell him to rap and it comes out like 200 of his other songs that sound the exact same with the exactsame style flow and rhyme schemne.
