Your Inital thoughts when you heard relapse.

I'll paint a picture:

I was suppose to be revising for my AS Maths exam, which was in 2 days time.
So i was studying in my room, and i get a phone call from a friend 'YOOO FUCK MATHS!! relapse leaked! '
so i run to my computer, download relapse and listen to it.
I saw that the leaked track list was real, and i play it from start to finish ( angry that CAB was on it), so im playing Insane, the first NEW track on the album, blows me away.
Then My mom, i thought 'wack!' at inital listen, then BFB, that was also wack but the ending had my laughing when he uses auto-tune.
Hello, i skipped after the first verse, so at this stage im thinking ' i should be revising and this isnt worth it'.
Same Song & Dance, hot beat but the lyrics i hated initlallly, skipped we made you, i loved medicine ball and Stay wide awake was fucking dope.
old times sake i skipped, "Must Be the Ganja' i hated, Déjà Vu was fucking dope.
then beautiful, as the vocals from paul rodgers kicked in, i was real emotional for some reason, i had the shivers and i thought, 'daym this is like a sing for the moment theme song'.
Eminems verse kicked in,

Im just so fucking depressed
I just cant seem to get out this slump
If i could just get over this hump
But i need something to pull me out this dump
I took my bruises took my lumps
Fell down and i got right back up
But i need that spark to get psyched back up
And in order for me to pick the mic back up

and i thought, fuck this is a classic, his voice was so emotional and sounded like he was in pain.
and by this, i knew eminem didnt lose his skills, on first listen this track did it for me and cemented my thoughts on eminem being dope. ( i could've shed a tear, no homo i love eminem and i'll always support him regardless of anything )
Underground was dope, i loved all the verses, i had a awesome smile on my face throughout the whole song.

I got back from school and I was meant to do my homework, but then I just think "I'll go on tha comp and check out some shit, you know?" and I find that Relapse has leaked! Downloaded Relapse and I start playing it (if you're even bothered to read all this shit below):

1. Dr. West (Skit) - I start listening to this, and by the end I get all excited.
2. 3 a.m. - I'd already listened to this before and thought it was rubbish but I still listen to it fully to get further excited for what was to come.
3. My Mom - This song plays and I'm thinking "here we go again, his fucking mom" but the beat is fucking awesome and the actual lyrics I find funny almost. Good start I'd say.
4. Insane - This comes next and I'm thinking "wtf is this pile of shit? Em is trying to make it fucked up again but it just ain't working Em!"
5. Bagpipes from Baghdad - I didn't get a very positive view of this song, beat I find shit. The lyrics just uninteresting so I stopped listening to them by the first few lines. I wasn't aware it was about Mariah Carey.
6. Hello - Hello comes on and I go "Hello? Is this album gonna be was wack as it's been up to now?" It was decent enough in comparison to the others.
7. Tonya (skit) - I'm left thinking "Hmmm kay"
8. Same Song & Dance - This stuff goes on and I'm like "Not bad not bad, better than the other shit."
9. We Made You - We Made You starts and gets skipped within the first few seconds. I was horrified by how shit it was when it first came out, it hurt my ears.
10. Medicine Ball - Just like Same Song & Dance, not bad not bad but I'm still awaiting something decent.
11. Paul (skit) - "Yeah yeah same shit"
12. Stay Wide Awake - It wasn't as bad as Insane or BFB but it was still a bit disappointing.
13. Old Time's Sake (featuring Dr. Dre) - This song ladies and gentlemen, this song, was what regained my hype for Relapse. I heard We Made You and 3 a.m. and I was horrified. This wasn't exactly that good either but it had a cool beat and it just felt nice.
14. Must Be the Ganja - I start liking this by the time the chorus is on, still below average though.
15. Mr. Mathers (skit) - "Hmm kay"
16. Déjà Vu - Hopeless, having given up on the album this magnificent songs goes on. It's just unbelievable how good it is in comparison to the other shit. It's incredible, a song which actually takes matters serious! I'm like "Damn son! One and only good song on this worthless shit."
17. Beautiful - This goes on, I'm hmmm kaying on the intro, the lyrics start and I'm into it. Wow, another satisfying song on this god damn album.
18. Crack a Bottle (featuring Dr. Dre and 50 Cent) - Skip
19. Steve Berman (skit) - "Look, I just don't care"
20. Underground - "Yeah, tis all right..."

Disappointed... I had to give it a few good listens to like it. It's funny how all the crap songs off the album were the ones I liked.

i downloaded relapse and i..."JIZZED IN MY PANTS" but na pretty much was anxious to hear it, first time going through it I didn't like it too much cept a couple of songs (Deja vu, stay wide awake). Playing it a couple times now I love most of the songs i hated (Hello, Must be the Ganja).

I dont know why you guys didnt dig Insane at first. When I played the whole album to the end, Insane was the first track I repeated...

I just mainly remember listening to Underground and thinking, "This is it! He's back!". It reminded me of Still Don't Give a Fuck, Criminal and My Dad's Gone Crazy so much.

I thought every song was fire, other than We Made You and Crack a Bottle which were skipped on first listen. I probably listened to Relapse for about 5 straight hours when it first leaked. Honestly I don't remember liking an album on first listen as much as I liked Relapse. It doesn't have the long-term replay value of SSLP MMLP or TES but the first few listens were very comparable for me.

I thought his skills had improved. I repeated the whole album thrice and focused on his lyrics ad thought that he's much doper than he used to be.

I skipped Crack a Bottle and Old Time's sake cuz they leaked much much much much earlier.

Shoutout to Zaddy for the Torent link.
