I heard about the one in the bathroom, but that was after proof died in like 2006. I'm talking about the EARLY lawsuits before and during the eminem show. He was making enemies in the white house and stuff like that.

Eminem: Court Cases

DEANGELO BAILEY CASE

In his song “Brain Damage” which is a track from The Slim Shady LP, Eminem claims that a class bully named DeAngelo Bailey would beat him up and torture him at school. The two attended Dort Elementary School together when Marshall Mathers was 9 years old. The “fat kid named DeAngelo Bailey”, as Eminem once called him, is now, years later, responding to the lyrics with a lawsuit. Bailey stated that the lyrics were untruthful. Furthermore, he claims that he was psychologically and economically damaged and that the song destroyed his reputation. Bailey, now a sanitation worker, filed a $1 million lawsuit against Mathers in August 2001. His mother, Deborah Mathers, says that little Marshall was often beaten by Bailey during the time of 4 months that he attended the school. Then, back to 1982, Debbie sued the school board for failing in protecting her child. The complaint resulted in Marshall being continuously assaulted and severely injured which includes a cerebral concussion. The filed lawsuit had been dismissed, yet Debbie’s attempt to help her son was not in vain. Though her and Eminem do not get along anymore (also due to lyrical content), this can now help adult Marshall in the current case he is involved in. Eminem and DeAngelo settled things out of court. It goes without saying, that most likely a significant amount of money was given to Bailey by the rap superstar, yet the amount is unknown.

Result: Eminem and DeAngelo settled things out of court.

KIM SCOTT CASE

On June 12 officers came to the conclusion that Kim Mathers was driving with a revoked license. When police searched the white Cadillac Escalade that Kim was driving with another woman they found in the glove compartment a Ziploc bag of which contained Cocaine. Another bag was found “within her property” which too was suspected to contain Cocaine. Because they only had suspected it to be Cocaine they sent it in for testing at the Michigan State Police Crime Lab. Results proved it to be Cocaine. Kim pleaded not guilty for the felony of Cocaine possession charge on July 1. This felony has a maximum of 4 years in prison. On a $7,500 bond Kim was freed and charged with 2 misdemeanor driving violations. She’s scheduled for court on September 9th. To further add, Kim was charged and arrested for the felony of Cocaine possession in July 2001. These charges were dismissed 5 months later.

Result: $7,500 bond, Charged with 2 misdemeanor driving violations, Scheduled for court on September 9th, Second charge dismissed 5 months later.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DEBBIE MATHERS CASE

In 1999 Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem, was sued by his own mother, Deborah Mathers. The lawsuit was regarding comments made about her by the rapper in the media, for example; his lyrics. Debbie stated that the comments damaged her reputation; in the community at large, between her friends, her family, and those around her. It’s said to have caused her emotional distress. It’s also been said that it caused her embarrassment, humiliation, loss of self-esteem, and anxiety. Debbie claimed he made comments about her being ’stoned, white trash’ in interviews with the media. She filed the lawsuit in Michigan’s Macomb County courthouse, and later on in the trials sued Eminem for an additional $1,000,000 which now made a total of $11 million. As far as their relationship goes, there isn’t one. Supposedly, Eminem will not let his 7 year old daughter Hailie see her grandmother anymore. As it turns out, Debbie only got $25,000 out of the case, not subtracting attorney funds and such expenses she was faced with.

Result: Got $25,000 out of a desired $11 Million

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JOHN GUERRA CASE

On June 3, 2000, Eminem’s wife, Kim was at a club located in Michigan called Hot Rocks. Eminem caught Kim kissing another man, John Guerra. Eminem ended up hitting Guerra with a 9mm Smith & Wesson gun. At about 2:20 a.m., Marshall Mathers, Kimberly Mathers, and a friend of Marshall’s were arrested after police received a 911 call regarding a man with a gun. Eminem was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. “I’m still shaken about it,” Guerra said. “I’m having a hard time sleeping. It really is one of the scariest things that’s happened in my life.” This same night, Eminem had involved the same gun in an argument with rivalries Insane Clown Posse’s manager by “brandishing” the gun.

Result: Two years probation, No excessive alcohol or control substance (unless prescribed), Alcohol and Drug testings when requested by Probation Officer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

INSANE CLOWN POSSE CASE

Insane Clown Posse and Eminem have been rivalries since the very beginning of Eminem’s career, when he was trying to get promotion and such. That probably plays a big role in the incident that happened. During an argument between Eminem and this group’s manager, Marshall pulled out the same gun he threatened John Guerra with later that night which resulted in a lawsuit.

Result: One year probation, approval from Longford Morris to leave state, community service.
