i remember my friend burned me a copy of TES when i was like 9 or 10 and i had to hide it from my parents and only listen to it on my portable cd player. i freakin love without me lol
but after that i didnt listen to em much untill like 2 years ago. Stan was probably the song that got me into him again. i just fuckin loved it ya know, then i downloaded his cds and ive been hooked ever sense

I was copying music from someone's computer, which some of them happened to be by eminem, from encore.

eventually i copied all my music from the CDs to my iPod and identified 99% of the songs by googling lyrics, and i was like "this is by eminem?" to the few songs I copied, like 'Rain man', 'big weenie', 'just lose it' and 'crazy in love'.

i've heard some people like in their 40s/30s calling eminem a bad person and sang bad stuff and shit like that

so later on i was searching for music by eminem in the itunes store & dog pile audio search, and as i was listening to the songs, i started hearing meaningful & emotional messages, and i saw that all these idiots were calling eminem a bad person for stupid reasons

i was hearing things that i could relate to, and was downloading eminem from several places over the next year or two, including youtube.

In 2000 I was sick and tired of N'Sync backstreet boys britney spears and all others who did that type of music, I wasn't into music really yet i was only in the 6th grade or so, 7th maybe, and then I saw the video for the real slim shady and I obviously agreed with everything he said, so i got the mmlp and the rest is history

I was 12 years old and we were going on a one week soccer trip to Oslo. My mother gave me a walkman and the 8 Mile soundtrack for the bus ride. I had never heard of Eminem or any other rapper on the album. Shit I had never heard a rap song in my life. For some reason I kept on repeating track 1,3 and 16 (Em`s solo songs on the album).. I loved those three songs and couldn’t stand the other ones at the time. As I grew older I realized his amazing lyrical skills, and got introduced to alot of other great rappers. Being 12 years old from Norway I didn’t understand much of what he said. But it was his voice and flow that captured me at first.

Say what you want about his more recent work, but what that man made in the period 99-02 alone, fucking crazy. IMO to this date, no one has topped that. And I highly doubt anyone will. The best rapper alive

I became obsessed with the song haha and my dad's girlfriend at the time bought me the MMLP. As soon as my mom found out I had the album, she insisted on listening to it to see what exactly it was that I was listening to. She FREAKKEEEEDD out and threw the whole CD away . So that was bye bye to Marshall for me for awhile. Next song I remember hearing from him was "Without Me" and once again I became obsessed. I remember my best friend & I calling the radio station over and over again to request it lmao.

After hearing those songs, & since I was older so my parents didn't really mind anymore, I became curious as to what his other songs were. I started googling all of his albums and listening to his older tracks. "Stan" really hooked me. As well as "Kill You", "Drug Ballad", and "Who Knew". During my freshman year of high school, I was going through a really hard time, and it seemed like Eminem's songs were the only things that made me feel better. I would just sit in my room and BLAST his songs from Infinite, SSLP, MMLP & TES over and over again. He really opened my eyes to rap music, because before him I didn't listen to much of it.

Crazy part about the whole thing is, a few years later I met his brother Nathan & him and I are like best friends now lol. I whooped his ass in an Eminem rap battle I know his brother's songs better than he does hahahaha.
