3rd verse, great song...I am just interested in the conversation aspect of this question. I have an idea of what it might mean but I will share a little bit in a second in here. Here are the lyrics I am referring to in the song:
"which reminds me...back in '89, the first time me and Kim broke up, she was trying to 2 time me
and their was this black girl in our school, who thought it was cool that I rapped, so she was eying me
and oh through the irony, guess what her name was?
aint even gonna say it, plus, the same color hair as hers was, and blue contacts
and a pair of juggs
the bombest goddamn girl in our whole school
if i could pull it off, not only would i become more popular, but I would be able to piss kim off at the same time
but it backfired, i was supposed to dump her, but she dumped me for this black guy
and that's the last I, ever or seen or heard from the old foolish pride girl...........
....and you know the rest.
i understand the whole describing the black girl, and the old foolish pride thing, but what was ironic about all of this? i'm thinking maybe the black girl's name was kim too, and maybe was a different color version of kim. it's like when ppl say, you marry your mother. instead he was trying to diss kim, make her feel jealous and be popular- so he would kill two birds with one stone, but it was the same exact girl personality wise as kim, which is what was so ironic, and besides the fact that the plan backfired anyway like he said. what do you think?
