I don't know, TR was the first place I saw that did shoutouts.

Same.

But maybe they say it because it shows the person's dedication to the site. The fact that someone takes the time out of their day to post, add an opinion, laugh, beef or just talk of a life problem is dedication. I guess. Let alone people who have 2000, 3000, 4000 posts. Even higher.
