it's language. it's how it works. eminem didn't expect his character to become an insult for obsessed fans, but it did. it's entered the lexicon & pretty much become an accepted substitute for "obsessed fan" in the hiphop community.

just because it's not in the Oxford English dictionary doesn't mean it's not a word with a definition.

I don't think "obsessed fan" is the full meaning of "Stan". I always think that word has more meaning than people give credit for. Like when you love someone too much that end up hating them and hurting yourself, well if that makes sense

I don't agree with you on this. Buying his CD is not all about the money, it's about you support and show respect for his work. This is not about financial problem. Actually as he said in many interviews, from the beginning, money is not his first priority in rap game, he wants recognition & respect. Since he'll never get the probs he deserves from the media, at least let him has respect from the fans.

Well of course that doesn't mean you have to buy everything he put out, but buying his official albums is the least you can do. Also, that excuse "He has enough money" is lame, where do you think that money come from? His work. And that work cost him the whole life.
