Listen, the fact is, this is her fault. She bounced, and by the sound of things, it wasn't justified. Sure, it's uncomfortable. That usually justifies the situation being discussed with some one higher up. Instead, she left. So she got wrote up. Unless she has discussed this issue with some one in charge before, and has a record of such behavior on paper, she had no reason (according to policy) to just leave based on the conversation you relayed here.

She'll just have to discuss the situation with some one in charge to get a pattern of innappropriate behavior from this guy down on paper.
