Well they were follow ups, they related to each other, was an ongoing storyline no? I didn't say they had to be the same to call it Relapse and Relapse 2. Eminem Show - Encore worked. But since by the sound of it, R2 is SO different.. i'd prefer a new title

but Encore was only a sequel to The Eminem Show in terms of what he had to say. if you think about it conceptually, he performed the eminem show, the curtains closed, then he came back for an encore performance, rhyming about everything he forgot to mention in TES. none of the themes or content in these albums were necessarily connected.

in relapse 1 & relapse 2 there's the theme of addiction/rehab. it also makes sense to call it Relapse 2, as he says, because during his recovery process he relapsed twice

According to what he said, I don't think that "Relapse 2" album that he mentioned in May exist anymore. It's pretty clear that he's been recording his ass off ever since Relapse dropped. I'm pretty sure this new album will go into TES/MMLP direction (if he said the truth in the interview), so there's no point to call it Relapse 2 as it WON'T have the "Relapse" theme.
