Maybe I'm missing something...

Postby kerryjoe » Oct 8th, '09, 05:46

Okay so on all these gay polls people make on this site, I noticed that on favorite song one's a lot of people put 'If I Had' as one of their favorites. WTF? I'm a huge em fan but that song I barely even like, he starts off talking about how he hates everything and blah blah blah, it's dull and makes him sound pathetic IMO (lmao just found out what IMO means). So why do so many people like it, what the fuck is so appealing about it? :smoking:

He speaks the truth in that song, and I think the reason most people like it is because a lot of people have felt that way at some point in their life. And most people can relate to some of the issues he raps about.

yeah SPEAKS...not rap, I'm not saying it doesn't have a meaningful purpose, just that he's talking not rapping and I don't understand how people like it so much it's so irritating

people who listen to Em enjoy the lyrics, metaphors, and the meanings behind songs. he makes you really understand how fed up with life he is, and why

like someone said earlier with rock bottom, so much emotion, i mean he wrote rock bottom the same day he tried to commit suicide, imagine what was goin through his head when he was writing that :worship: :worship: :worship:

Well, I don't care really what you're like on the inside and I just really want you to come to bed with me. Would you do that if you could? Even if you were just average on the outside (but not fat) I could like you if you sounded smart.

Never liked the song. I've listened to it 4-5 times, and I'll prolly never play it again. And dont compare If I Had to Rock Bottom, guys. :n:

If I had is an amazing song.. He wrote it before he was famous and it's crazy to see how his life was before he blew up and became rich as fuck.

Sorry you can't handle a song with a structured theme and doesn't just talk about big spinnin rims and bitches.

Its him just being depressed about how poor he is and how everything is fucked up around him, it's a man being straight honest in his lyrics, rhymes were dope, I loved the hook, its a great song :y:
